A change from Football Stars to Football Action, and from a blue
back to a red/pink one. The back of the packet shown says that there
was a 'Super Wall Chart' for the 'new series of Barratt all action

The Big Match began issuing 32 stickpix in their monthly magazine
in September 1976, and promised to issue more with each monthly
issue for the whole season. The July 1976 magazine (edition 20) says
"The first BIG NEWS of the 1976-77 season is good news. It's an
exciting free gift for all Big Match readers in the new season.
Starting with the next Big Match (on sale August 27) you can deal
yourself in on the fantastic Big Match Soccer Super Album". Edition
21, September 1976, advertises on the front cover "FREE! 32
Superstar Stikpix inside! Start collecting for your free Soccer
Superalbum! There's a free voucher with this issue!"
The fate of the Superstar Stickpix is not known. They issued 32 pictures each month, but by the February 1977 edition appear to have cut back to only 20. There are therefore, currently, 180 Stickpix known. We do not even know exactly when the Big Match stopped production, and therefore whether the Stickpix series was ever completed. pictures of Pat Jennings and Kevin Keegan. Album: Price 20p. |

A strange set of stickers from FKS. The album notes 'Some of the
most famous players and club sides of Europe are featured in this
collection of Euro-Soccer 77 which is being presented at a time when
interest in the three major European competitions continues to
remain high'. The order form in the album allows you to send away
for stickers to complete your collection, but only until December
31, 1977. The warranty in the album notes that information in the
album was accurate 'at the time of going to press... before the
start of the 1976/77 season'. |

A set of 32 cards for a game, plus a Rules card. You could order
these through the Euro Soccer Star '77 album for 75p per pack. |
Cost cutting meant that most of the pictures for this booklet
were in black and white, with the magazine proudly announcing 'Many
pages in full colour'. The booklet was part of the Shoot/Goal
magazine dated 18 September 1976. |
Another 'international' Panini collection which was available in
the U.K. through the distributors, Minicards Ltd. An album was
available for the stickers. Some copies of the album were
distributed for free through the Shoot/Goal magazine. The
introduction to the album states 'Hallo Friends! Let me say it feels
great to tell you that fantastic picture stickers, made by Edizioni
Panini, the largest producer in the world, which are already
well-known and enjoyed by most of the children in Europe are now
available to all British children as well'. Are all Italian
sentences this long? |
The last ever set from Top Sellers, featuring the First Division
teams, plus some puzzle cards. After the issue of this set the name
Top Sellers was discontinued and Panini used their own name on
English issues. There was an album to stick these stickers into. |
A set comprising individual footballers from the First and Second
Divisions. One section of cards (Nos. 125 to 140) includes Shoot!
Goal All Stars. The cards have 'Topps Chewing Gum Inc.' printed on
the back. An image gallery (still under development) of the full set
of these cards is available, grouped by the players' clubs.
Additional information has been added to each page to show each
players' full career transfers and transfer fees. |
A larger set than 1975/76, increasing from 88 to 132, though the
number of teams decreases from 17 to 12. The team included are now
the 10 teams from the Scottish Premier League from 1975/76 plus the
two teams promoted from the First Division - Partick and Kilmarnock. |
